ARCHITECTURALLY CURIOUS

An Office Designed for Connection & Creativity

Photography by Shade Degges for AD

When I first saw the finished design of Roc Nation’s L.A. offices, I realized it’s not just about aesthetics—it’s a perfect example of how a calm, zen environment fosters both creativity and meaningful conversation.

Featuring Design Icons

The curated mix of design icons—highlighted by the Charlotte Perriand desk, a Marcel Breuer lamp, Oscar Niemeyer seating, and Rick Owens chairs—shows how carefully chosen pieces can elevate a space without overwhelming it. They strike the perfect balance between modernist design and livable comfort—elevating the space without feeling stuffy.

The open layout centers around a versatile Calacatta viola marble coffee bar—serving as a space for meetings, dining, and entertainment. Concrete floors transition seamlessly into Dinesen HeartOak—adding a touch of refinement. The minimalist design combined with tech-forward elements encourages creativity and productivity without too many distractions.

What is Collectible Design?

Collectible design refers to limited-edition, one-of-a-kind, or small-batch pieces of furniture, lighting, or decorative objects that are highly valued for their craftsmanship, artistic vision, and rarity. Unlike mass-produced items, these works often blur the line between art and functional design—making them sought-after by collectors and design enthusiasts.

Pieces That Transcend Mass Market

Each piece is more than just an object—it’s a statement. These works are often produced by emerging or renowned designers—using experimental techniques or unconventional materials, pushing the boundaries of traditional design. Owning such a piece is not just about having functional furniture—it’s about having a work of art that reflects cutting-edge creativity and innovation. It’s about celebrating craftsmanship and individuality in a way that mass-produced, commercial items can’t match.

GLOBAL GLIMPSE

Zürich: A Stunning Midcentury Alpine Escape

Photography from The Brecon

In Swiss resort towns like St. Moritz or Gstaad, the slopes are often dominated by fashion shows during high season (Dec-Mar). Just two hours from Zürich sits a quiet ski town in the Bernese Alps called Adelboden—where a new hotel just opened its doors and I’m ready to book my trip.

It’s clear that the spaces we inhabit are more than just functional—they’re reflections of creativity, culture, and personal expression. The way we shape our environments can transform how we feel and interact with the world around us.

They inspire us to look at design not just as a backdrop—but as a living, evolving narrative. Here’s to spaces that tell a story and designs that leave a lasting impression—I’ll see you next week, my friend.
