GLOBAL GLIMPSE

London: A Thoughtful Revival from Traditional to Timeless

A 1980s-era three-bedroom home in London—Arch House—was renovated to blend work, relaxation, and socializing. This beautiful arched doorway connects the home’s interior to the west-facing garden—enhancing natural light and creating a seamless flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Respecting the building’s original character, the exterior introduces a new brick patio that connects to a garden filled with stunning Mediterranean plants like olive trees and lavender—creating a peaceful and welcoming space for outdoor living.

The Art of Materiality

Inside, the minimalist design makes the most of every corner. A bold red travertine kitchen island serves as a striking focal point—while the soft lime plaster walls retain heat and absorb sound from its porous texture.

The stunning walnut joinery adds richness and underfloor heating ensures additional warmth during cold winter months—creating an inviting atmosphere all year round.

VISUAL COMFORT

Photography by Bjorn Pozza

Drawing inspiration from Eastern spiritual practices and Asian culture—Brooklyn-based duo Kawabi released lamps featuring minimalistic wooden structures and distinctive shapes. Their designs incorporate materials like wood and washi paper to evoke warmth and serenity—integrating spiritual and cultural elements.

Wired for Connection

First debuted at Collectible New York and now at Colony Gallery, these lamps blend asymmetry, minimalism, and natural materials. By making visible the typically hidden elements of lighting design—wiring and structural supports—their work transforms ordinary lighting into pieces of art.
